Terms & Conditions

The terms and conditions abide by Norwegian law governing package travels, by definition of “Pakkereiseloven” of 15.06.2018, § 6 and the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs´ regulations. These laws and regulations govern the relationship between Ski and Sail Norway AS and the customer. In case of conflict between laws and regulations and Ski and Sail Norway´s own terms, Ski and Sail Norway´s terms shall have precedence, unless laws and regulations on the topic are unavoidable.

Ski and Sail Norway AS is a member of and has provided warranty to the Norwegian travel guarantee fund “Reisegarantifondet”, which enables the customer to be fully refunded in the case of Ski and Sail Norway AS filing for bankruptcy before or during the package travel.

The traveller must be aware that our events involve a higher risk than what is traditionally regarded a package travel. Our nature-based experiences and events set special requirements of us as a nature event organiser and you as a traveller. Our destinations will be more prone to changing weather and nature conditions than other normal travel destinations. These conditions lead to event programmes being more prone to sudden changes or delays.

Be aware that our events involve the risk of danger and accidents. As a customer you must be fully aware that participation is at your own responsibility. This element of danger is much more present during our events than most other package travels. Ski and Sail Norway AS cannot be held accountable for accidents, beyond what is determined by Norwegian law through “Pakkereiseloven” or our own terms and policies. It is therefore extremely important that you as a customer have your private travel insurance in order.

Ski and Sail Norway AS can cancel the event in case of lack of booking. At the time being, the minimum required number of participants is set to 4 pax for our offered events. The deadline for such a cancellation is set to 7 days before the start of the event. A written cancellation shall have reached the customer before the deadline. In case of such a cancellation, the customer´s payment shall be refunded in full as soon as possible.

The given price of the event should include all fees and taxes imposed by Norwegian authorities on such services. The price should also include access to all amenities or services to the customer that Ski and Sail Norway AS has included in its package travel.

If below 18 years of age, you will have to travel together with a parent or a guardian.

You are required to follow the instructions given by representatives of Ski and Sail Norway AS during the event, as well as any laws or rules of conduct given by Norwegian authorities and/or by Ski and Sail Norway AS. You must not behave in a way which could be offensive to other participants in any form. You are required to refrain from any photographing or photo sharing on social media without the consent of the involved participants, including Ski and Sail Norway AS. If you override these requirements and your responsibility as a fellow traveller, you may be refused to participate in the rest of the event, and can be imposed to cover the cost of returning home yourself and/or liable for damages.

In the case of cancellation, this has to be done in writing or electronically. Date of cancellation is counted as the day the cancellation reaches Ski and Sail Norway AS. If the cancellation deadline falls on a holiday, the cancellation must have reached Ski and Sail Norway AS on the closest working day before this.

The customer has the right to cancel the booked event. The refund will follow the following terms:

  • When cancelling the booked event more than 42 days before the start of the event you will not be refunded the 20% deposit of the entire sum. (The rest of whatever sum has been paid will be refunded.)

  • When cancelling the booked event between 42 and 7 days before the start of the event you will only be refunded 50% of the entire sum.

  • When cancelling less than 7 days before the start of the event you will not be refunded any part of the sum paid.

The customer has the right to hand over the spot at the booked event to any other person he/she wishes, if this person meets the requirements for participation, given that the customer gives Ski and Sail Norway AS notice of this within reasonable time before the booked event.

In the case of complaints, the traveller should be made aware of the complaint procedure, and if the two parts cannot come to an agreement, the complaint can be brought to the tribunal for package travel (Pakkereisenemnda) https://reiselivsforum.no/web/home/. In the case of further court proceedings, Oslo district court is hereby announced as the legal venue. Any lawsuit shall be regulated by Norwegian law.
